How I Will Shift The Current Copyright & Trademark Ideologies

souari is one of the most ground breaking cultural fashion institutions that has ever existed lol. Its a direct reflection of me and allows me to artistically express myself. I use my art to try to set new standards and provoke thought as well.

The base of some corporate copyright and trademark law stifles free speech and innovation by creating monopolies, suppressing competition, and disproportionately benefiting large corporations rather than individual creators. There is boundaries that can not be crossed, don’t get me wrong but the facilitation of cultural appropriation that does not allow a person to fully express themselves in the culture a person is living and resonates with is detrimental. The process is in which systemic power imbalances, historical exploitation, and social ignorance- enable a dominant culture to unethically take, adopt, or use elements from a marginalized culture. There is evolving ways to challenge and shape mainstream ideologies with Fair Use, Commercial Speech, and Free Expression and its already much more free than it has ever been and the world will continue to evolve. For example Youtube has evolved to allow you to post other artists works with the option that the artist can monetize from your channel if they choose… People need to be able to express themselves with the cultures that they relate to, influences them, and that is sometimes unequally forced upon them…

Our global frameworks, in other countries outside the U.S. especially, while participating in directly forming and shaping ideologies and cultures, sometimes thrive on producing perceived scarcity through various means… and some completely try to control and manipulate, especially with information. The drive to own, possess and control gives way to negative, debilitating, consequences for themselves, regardless how something like a system framework or someone appears. Its time to make our way to creative frameworks and global information and transparency that reflect individual choice, free expression, and respect for others… rather than some of the forced, collectivist, controlling systems. We are already started! Portions of Fair Use, Free Expression, and Commercial Speech already allow you to incorporate and use almost anything and I know it has shaped how I have created and it has laid possible positive ground works for things like respecting individual creator integrity while using it to express yourself…

• Ideas are not owned: Thoughts, ideas, and creative inspiration originate from everybody and should be available to everyone no matter who they are.
• Information and expression is meant to be free: The withholding of information, expression, ideas, and knowledge as well as monetizing and controlling expression and inspiration is hindering the world’s collective evolution. Money is an energy and comes to you to support your happiness and to enable you to further express yourself and create everything in your life, and it easily comes to you when you are doing just that. There are millions of possibilities for an artist, journalist, scientists, or any other person to have abundance and wealth, in all forms, not just monitarily, other than some of the current institutional and cultural ideologies of monetization and control that you see attempting to be implimented in places around the world. Free and open sharing of information promotes higher consciousness and some of the copyright law, which can create artificial scarcity and control, is considered a barrier to natural individual expression and creative flow.
• Emphasis on collective good: Our focus should be on the benefit of the collective rather than to profit from and control of the individual. Creative works need to be shared and used openly, while preserving individual identity and the inspiration- to enrich the lives of all, rather than monetized for individual gain. The current corporate monetization frameworks are tools to not only base creations and percieved importance and sucess on profit, but to control and shape society and it does such to different cultures through different industries. There is no right or wrong and there has been many positive aspects that have came along to help us evolve and even the stiffling areas of control and sensorship end up creating the opposite in some way.
• Respect for creation, not ownership: While this may not support the concept of copyright, this does not imply a disregard for creative effort and impact. Instead, the creator gets full respect for their role in bringing the work into being if the creator wants that, while the creation itself is recognized as a gift to the world. There is millions of ways to do this.
• A “map assistant” for the world: Current ideologies like the current main stream copyright law serve as temporary “maps” or learning tools for society’s current stage of development. The goal is to evolve beyond these lower life systems toward a more evolved model of sharing and abundance.

souari is small fashion on a small global scale and will continue to massively impact the world by helping to pioneer ethical production, championing reuse, and free expression while making sure the original creators and inspirations are known while i also hope to continue to be attempting to be driving transparency and challenging norms towards a completely planet-positive, equitable industry and fashion is already one of the leaders of every industry in the world…
